NAMI Basics is a no-cost 6-week course for parents, foster parents and primary caregivers of adolescents who are exhibiting signs or symptoms of a mental health condition. Course runs June 1 to July 6. Foster parent CEU credit is available.

Foster parents are eligible to obtain credit training hours. (2.5 hours for 6 weeks = 15 hours).
This nationally-developed program is made possible by the investment of the Muscatine Health Support Granting Fund. NAMI is partnering with the Muscatine Department of Public Health to promote early detection and treatment for mental health conditions.
This course is taught by trained parents or caregivers who have similar lived experiences with their own children and allows families to connect, learn, and empower themselves to overcome new challenges.

~Resources to help navigate school and justice systems
~How to advocate for your child’s rights and to prepare and respond
to crisis situations
