No video recording of this meeting is allowed.\n\n\nRegister Here. \n\n\n\nThis is a specialized NAMI Family Support Group offered by NAMI volunteer parents of youth. It is open to parents\, grandparents\, foster parents or caregivers of a youth showing signs or symptoms of a mental health condition. Held every Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in partnership with UnityPoint Health-Robert Young Center. No charge to attendees. \n\nNAMI Family Support Group will help you:\n\n\nAim for better coping skills\nFind strength in sharing experiences\nDo not judge anyone’s pain\nForgive ourselves and reject guilt\nEmbrace humor as healthy\nAccept that we cannot solve every problem\nUnderstand that mental health conditions are no one’s fault and can be traumatic experiences\n\n\nAbout our Facilitators:  \n\n\nNAMI facilitators use a nationally-designed model for the group. These facilitators are family education instructors or graduates of a NAMI family education class specializing in youth. They\, too\, have experience with a young family member living with a mental health condition. These trained family members volunteer for NAMI with the hope of supporting other families with lived experience. \nPlease note:  \n\nNAMI does not provide counseling or therapy. Our family support and education programs complement the help you receive from healthcare and social work providers. This support group is held in partnership with UnityPoint Health – Robert Young Center. A grant from United Way of the Quad Cities Area makes this support group possible.
