Use parking lot at 8th St. & 11th Ave. \nWHAT YOU’LL GAIN: \nBy sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting\, you will gain hope and develop relationships. The group encourages empathy\, productive discussion and a sense of community. \nThis group will help you to:\n~See the individual first\, not the condition\n~Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that have environmental triggers\n~Understand that mental illness are traumatic events\n~Aim for better coping skills\n~Find strength in sharing experiences\n~Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination\n~Not judge anyone’s pain\n~Forgive ourselves and reject guilt\n~Embrace humor as healthy\n~Accept that we can not solve every problem \nNAMI Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure you and others in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what you need. The group is led by trained facilitators who also have a mental health condition.

Pre-registration is required for a lunch reservation. \nThe second event\, a Student & Parent Presentation\, will take place from 2:00-3:00 PM. Registration is not required. \nThroughout the day\, you will hear Laura’s personal story and the research behind her mission to educate parents and teens about the dangers of high-potency marijuana products.
