DESCRIPTION:NAMI Basics is a no-cost 6-week session program for parents\, foster parents and primary caregivers of adolescents who have shown signs or symptoms of a mental health condition. Course runs through May 5 (skipping Easter Sunday). Registration ends Friday March 22 at 2:00 p.m. \nFoster parents in Iowa and Illinois are eligible to obtain credit training hours. (2.5 hours for 6 weeks = 15 hours). \nThis program is taught by trained parents/caregivers who have similar lived experiences of their own children\, allowing families to connect\, learn and empower themselves to overcome new challenges.
