A free, 8-week course that has been nationally developed and federal agency approved. NAMI Family-to-Family provides information and strategies for taking care of an adult loved one with a mental health condition. Registration is required.
The first class is held on Monday, September 14 from 6:00-8:30 PM, and will take place for 8 consecutive Mondays. The last day of this course will be on Monday, November 2.
This class is held in-person at Muscatine Community College – 852 Colorado Street, Strahan Building, Classroom 8, Muscatine, Iowa.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Family members, friends, and loved ones of an adult living with a mental health condition such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
NAMI educators will call registrants prior to the course to provide details and learn more about the situation of the participant.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
The group setting of this course provides mutual support and shared positive impact - experience compassion and reinforcement from other family members who have been trained to become instructors as a result of taking this course themselves. Sharing your own experience may help others in your class.
