First Day Family-to-Family Education Program – Muscatine

A free, eight-session course for family members, caregivers and friends of an adult loved one living with a mental health condition. It will be held at Muscatine Community College, Main Campus – Strahan Bldg., Classroom 8, 152 Colorado St., Muscatine.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN …

NAMI’s Family-to-Family education program is a free, eight-week, evidence-based class for families and caregivers of individuals dealing with many different mental health conditions, including: major depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and borderline personality disorder.

The course is taught by trained family members who have chosen to become instructors after being empowered as a result of taking this course. Many family members describe this program as life changing.

  • Subtypes of mental health conditions and co-occurring brain addictive disorders
  • The biology of the brain
