1st Day Muscatine Family to Family Class
Muscatine Community College beginning February 18. This program will run every Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. through April 7. We’ll be using a new 8-week format for this program. All registrants will be contacted 1 to 2 weeks before classes start for a screening and room location.

1st Day Blackhawk Family to Family
Blackhawk College beginning February 4. Because this class is funded with Rock Island County funds, residents of this county will be given registration priority. This program will run every Tuesday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. through April 21. All registrants will be contacted 1 to 2 weeks before classes start for a screening and room location. 1st Day of Family to Family Class at Esparanza Center
Who should attend: Family members and caregivers supporting a loved one over the age of 18 who lives with a mental health condition.
This 12-week education program will run Thursdays from September 5 through November 21, 6 to 8:30 p.m. It is offered at no cost to participants.
This program is nationally developed and federal-agency approved. A grant from The Rock Island County 708 Mental Health Board makes this program possible.
All registrants will be contacted 1 to 2 weeks before classes start by an instructor for a phone screening
The program is taught by trained family members who have been trained to become instructors after being empowered as a result of taking this course. Many describe this program as life changing. NAMI Spring Family Education Class Schedule
NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley offers free nationally-developed education programs that teach families to cope, communicate and effectively advocate for a loved one living with a mental health condition. To register for NAMI courses, visit www.namigmv.org or call 563-386-7477 Ext. 266.
NAMI Homefront will be held six Wednesday evenings from April 8 to May 13 at Army Sustainment Command Headquarters Building at the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, Ill. Registration is required by April 5. Through a national Memorandum of Understanding with the Veterans Administration, NAMI is working with the VA in Iowa City and Quad Cities to promote this specialized class for veteran and active-duty service member families. The course is designed for family members supporting a loved one living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and other mental health conditions.
NAMI Family-to-Family will be held 12 Tuesday evenings from April 23 to July 9 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa. Register by April 19. The course is designed for family members and caregivers of individuals 18 years or older living with a mental health condition. Course topics include family response to trauma, diagnosis and dealing with critical periods, problem solving, communications skills, and self-care for caregivers. The program is taught by trained family members who have lived experience.

NAMI Offers Family Education for Clinton and Jackson Counties
NAMI is offering an education program designed for family members who support an adult living with a mental health condition. The course is made available by a grant from the Eastern Iowa Mental Health and Disabilities Service Region that includes Jackson and Clinton counties.
NAMI Family-to-Family program is 12 Monday evenings beginning March 4 at Clinton Community College, 1000 Lincoln Boulevard, Clinton. The course is designed for family members and caregivers of individuals 18 years or older living with a mental health condition. Course topics include family response to trauma, diagnosis and dealing with critical periods, problem solving, communications skills, and self-care for caregivers.
